Without a Destination there is no Journey

Trying to achieve something without a true and clear goal is fruitless. Nothing sums this up better than one of my favourite scenes in Alice in Wonderland:

Alice: Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?

The Cat: That depends a good deal on where you want to get to

Alice: I don’t much care where.

The Cat: Then it doesn’t much matter which way you go.

Alice: …so long as I get somewhere.

The Cat: Oh, you’re sure to do that, if only you walk long enough.

If you have no goal, how do you know when your journey is finished? How can you reward yourself for achieving it?

Today I found a true goal to work towards; a direction and ambition for my work life that I had been looking for, without really knowing, for a number of years.

The result will be a positive impact on those who use my products, follow my guidance and on my industry as a whole. I feel a change is due and I am starting today.

  1. This is a really great post and it’s quite timely that I came across it now, as I have not been active online for a while and decided to get back to reviving my efforts today. Given the experience I have seen of your dedication to projects, such as Fresh Store Builder, I look forward to seeing the further positive impact you will have. Many thanks for all you share so far.
